Approach to Therapeutic Coaching

As a registered member of the BACP and a qualified counsellor, I work under the integrative umbrella of therapeutic coaching. This approach allows me to draw from both person-centred counselling and existential coaching, supporting a holistic and collaborative process.

Our work together is centred on growth, understanding, and self-empowerment. I aim to offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, build confidence, and develop meaningful change at your own pace.

Where appropriate, I may also draw on my lived experience to support understanding and connection. This is always done with care and intention, and in service of your process.

Neurodivergent-Affirming & Trauma-Informed Practice

My work is grounded in a neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed approach.

This means:
• Sessions are adapted to support sensory needs, pacing, and communication
preferences
• We move at a depth and pace that feels safe and manageable
• Your experiences are understood within the context of nervous system responses,
identity, and environment

You are welcome to:
• Have your camera off
• Use chat instead of speaking

• Adjust lighting or sensory input
• Bring any supports that help you feel regulated

Strengths-Based Support

I offer strengths-based support for neurodivergent individuals, including those who are recently diagnosed or self-identifying.

This approach focuses on:

  • Understanding your unique ways of thinking and experiencing
  • Identifying strengths alongside challenges
  • Supporting self-advocacy and autonomy

Scope of Practice

While I am professionally trained in counselling, coaching, and neurodevelopmental conditions, I am not medically trained.

My role is to:
• Support reflection, understanding, and strategy
• Share knowledge informed by training and lived experience

You remain responsible for:
• Decisions made outside of sessions
• How you apply insights from our work

Sessions

  • Sessions are 50–60 minutes
  • Delivered online or in person
  • Booked via the online booking system

Sessions are reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to meet your needs.

If accessing the booking system presents a barrier, we can explore alternative ways to arrange sessions.

Commitment

Our work together is collaborative and flexible.
I understand that difficulties such as time perception, energy, and capacity can vary, especially within neurodivergent lives. There is no expectation of perfection, and we can work together to find what supports consistency.

Where possible, I ask that you:
• Attend sessions at the agreed time
• Let me know if you need to cancel or reschedule
If this feels challenging, we can explore ways to support this together.

Fees

Fees are listed on the booking system. Payable within 48 hours via bank transfer

Price reviews take place:
• January 1st
• July 1st
One month’s notice will be given for any changes.

Access to Work funding may be available:

Cancellations & Deposits

48 hours’ notice required (excluding weekends)
Late cancellations are charged at the full rate

After three consecutive cancellations, a 50% non-refundable deposit may be required for future bookings.

This supports:
Consistency in therapeutic work
Fair access for other clients

Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential, except where there is a legal or ethical duty to share information. This may include situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law. This will be discussed in more detail if relevant.
